Action Medical Research are launching an urgent appeal to fund research into COVID-19 and its impact on children.
Whilst research is underway to help understand the disease in adults, there is a huge gap in the research specifically focusing on children and how the virus and pandemic affects them.
Parents are living in fear of the unknown with many unanswered questions that need tackling: Why do some children with COVID-19 get so sick and others don’t? What are the long-term effects of this condition for my child? How will COVID-19 affect my child’s mental health?
We must not forget about children in the fight against this pandemic. That’s why theyhave launched their appeal to raise over £1 million to fund new, high quality research to help understand the impact COVID-19 is having specifically on children. This is an extraordinary call for research, but we need your help to make it happen. The amount of research they are able to fund into COVID-19 depends entirely on how much we raise from this appeal.
