AMH deliver services and projects across the country with health promotion work that takes place in schools, cross-border counties and with local employers.Their employment services assist people to remain in work as well as providing skills and sourcing opportunities for those who want to re-enter the workforce.
They have specific projects for young people, older people, people living with alcohol abuse, employees, employers, people managing long-term conditions, partnership work with other mental health and disability charities as well as working within our prisons.
They provide their clients with many opportunities, encouraging them to adopt healthier lifestyles and to widen their social networks. They also provide them with the skills to build a better future, set personal goals, develop coping skills, re-engage with society and become more employable..
Rethink Mental Illness
Welcome to Rethink Mental Illness. We help millions of people affected by mental illness by challenging attitudes, changing lives. Here is just a selection about what we do, and what it means for you.
Who are we?
We believe a better life is possible for millions of people affected by mental illness.
Over 40 years ago, one man bravely spoke about his family's experiences of mental illness in a letter to the Times and in the process brought together hundreds to talk about their experiences of mental illness and support each other.
Today we directly support almost 60,000 people every year across England to get through crises, to live independently and to realise they are not alone. And we change attitudes and policy for millions.
Penumbra is an innovative Scottish mental health charity, working to improve mental wellbeing across the nation.
With over 350 staff across Scotland, we work to PROMOTE mental health and wellbeing for all, PREVENT mental ill health for people who are at risk and to SUPPORT people with mental health problems.
We provide a wide range of services which offer hope and practical steps towards recovery. Penumbra campaigns to influence national and local government policy, and to increase public knowledge and understanding about mental ill health.
Penumbra is seen as one of the most significant mental health voluntary organisations in Scotland. It is known for the quality of its work, its creativity and ability to work in partnership with a range of organisations and groups.
Addaction helps people change their behaviour to become the very best that they can be. It could be their drug or alcohol use or worries about their mental health – we support people to making lasting change in their lives.
With over 120 services from Cornwall to Scotland, we help adults, young people, families and communities to change for the better.
We are one of the UK's leading and largest specialist drug, alcohol and mental health treatment charities. We believe that effective treatment needs to be tailored to the individual. Each person needs committed and caring support as they move forward step by step.
We're Mind, the mental health charity.
We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect.
Mental Health Foundation
We are working for an end to mental ill health and the inequalities that face people experiencing mental distress, living with learning disabilities or reduced mental capacity.
We develop and run research and delivery programmes across the UK that provide evidence and expertise to know what works and how to intervene earlier.
We use what we learn to help everyone by offering straightforward and clear information on every aspect of mental health and learning disabilities.
Our advice also helps people help the people they care about too - in their families, their communities or their work. We influence policymakers and advocate for changes in services, using firm evidence and the voices of people with direct experience of the issues.
We campaign on the issues that affect public mental health and wellbeing and the lives of people who have, or are close to someone with a learning disability. We aim to inspire the development of a society free from stigma and discrimination, where everyone can achieve their potential to flourish and thrive.
